Getting there
By airplane
Nowadays domestic flights are operated by two Greek airlines (Olympic Air, Astra Airlines).
Chios is connected to Athens and to Thessaloniki with daily flights. 3-5 flights from/to Athens (the flight time is 35 minutes) and 5 times per week from/to Thessaloniki (the flight time is 50 minutes).

There are direct charter flies from some European capitals with these companies:
- Hellaswings from Norway, Oslo directly to Chios once a week.
- Lilleput from Norway, Oslo directly to Chios once a week
- Martin Air from Holland, Amsterdam directly to Chios once a week
- Hellaswings from Holland, Amsterdam directly to Chios once a week
- Lauda Air from Austria, Vienna directly to Chios once a week
By ship
All year round Chios is daily connected to the port of Piraeus as well as to the neighboring Lesvos. There are also shipping routes to Limnos, Thessaloniki, Kavala, Samo, Ikaria, Kalumno, Ko, Rhodes, Oinousses and Psara.
There are also daily running shipping routes to and from the neighboring Turkey and particularly to the port of Cesme; departure from Chios every morning and return from Cesme in the evening, which is one hour drive away from Izmir.
